About Us
Kemper Industrial Equipment and Midwest Pottyhouse is a second-generation family business that began in 1963. Keith and Virginia Kemper first started providing barricades, cones, highway weed spraying, and other services to municipalities all over Central Illinois. With the addition of renting portable toilets, the business quickly evolved over the years, at various points even dealing in renting and selling John Deere and Bobcat equipment.
Rent-a-potty became a major focus around 1970. Not long after that came aerial reach equipment, beginning with scissor lifts. In 2006, our current CEO, Scott Kemper, added a second Pottyhouse rental location in Carbondale.
Legacy
Today, our main focus is on renting equipment for aerial, dirt, and other construction work as well as portable toilet rentals. We never tire of improvement and innovation in business and products—always offering the best and the newest at affordable prices with fast, expert service.

From our Champaign headquarters at 1314 W. Anthony Drive, both sides of the business — Kemper Industrial Equipment and Midwest Pottyhouse — serve East Central Illinois within roughly a 50-60 mile radius along the I-72, I-74, and I-57 corridors: Champaign-Urbana, Bloomington-Normal, Mattoon-Charleston, Danville, Mahomet, Rantoul, Paxton, and the communities in between.
From our Carbondale location at 525 W. Industrial Park Rd, Midwest Pottyhouse provides porta potty and restroom rentals across Southern Illinois — Carbondale, Marion, Murphysboro, Carterville, Herrin, Du Quoin, and the surrounding area within about 50 miles. Equipment rental is offered from Champaign only.
